What is The Teacher Appreciation Banquet about?
On the day of Malaysia’s 2018 general election, he returned from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to cast his vote. Like many others, he believed change was finally possible.That same night was his teacher’s appreciation banquet.
A journey home becomes a journey into memory, taking him back to a school in 1987，a time when they once stood side by side for what they believed in, fought for change, and hurt one another along the way.
More than thirty years later, they meet again. Life has taken each of them down different paths, some held on to their ideals, some changed, while others chose silence. And when the teacher reappears, so do the memories they thought they had left behind.
They begin to realise that the questions of the past never truly disappeared.The choices they made back then still shape the people they are today.
Now, they must confront each other once more, and finally confront the younger versions of themselves.
